ICANN ERRP

Hamburg, 09.09.2013

ICANN's new Expired Registration Recovery Policy (ERRP) is designed to assist domain holders with the processes of renewal, deletion and eventual recovery of domains. deLink is required to send reminders and provide information in accordance with this policy.

Invitation e-mails

Domain holders will now receive a reminder email about 1 month and about 1 week before a domain expires. These ICANN reminders will be sent - in addition to the normal reminder emails - from expirationwarning@delink.de or a neutral email address, regardless of whether a domain is on AutoRenew or not and regardless of whether a deletion has already been requested.

Deleted domains

After a domain is deleted, it is automatically disconnected. Email and the original website no longer work. For a transitional period, a website will appear with instructions on how to restore it.

Within 5 days of the expiry of a domain that has not been renewed, but also not deleted, an email is sent giving information on a possible restoration. For many TLDs (but not all), a restoration is possible within a few days, e.g. after an accidental deletion. For gTLDs (such as .com, .net, .org, .info etc.) - but not for Sponsored gTLDs - there is generally a period of 30 days during which a restoration is possible. Separate fees are due for a restoration, which are usually significantly higher than the respective annual fees.

AutoRenew

If you have set your domains to AutoRenew at deLink, you do not need to pay any further attention to the ICANN reminder email - with AutoRenew, your domains are automatically renewed on schedule.
